This talk presented some preliminary thoughts on how agents might affect marketplaces, focusing on price discovery, preference elicitation, competition, bargaining and market design. It then discussed a new paper using some of these agentic approaches to simulate job matching in a labor market setting. The talk concluded with some thoughts on tooling and infrastructure to accelerate research in this area.
