Steven Kamin

Steven B. Kamin is a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), where he studies international macroeconomic and financial issues. He also consults for the World Bank and is an adviser to the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Before joining AEI in 2020, Kamin was the director of the Division of International Finance at the Federal Reserve Board, where he guided the formulation of the staff’s global economic forecast and presented it to the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC); advised the Fed’s Board on international economic and financial policy matters; represented the Fed in international groups such as the G7, G20, and BIS Committee on the Global Financial System (CGFS); and guided the direction of economic research within the division. Kamin has also served as a visiting economist at the BIS and a senior economist for the White House Council of Economic Advisers. He has published widely in the fields of international macroeconomics and finance. Kamin has a doctorate in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
