Thomas Wieser is an Austrian economist. Before moving to Brussels as Chair of the Eurogroup Working Group and Economic and Financial Committee (2009 - 2011, 2012 - 2018) he was Director General of the Austrian Ministry of Finance. Prior to that worked as economist in international organisation, and in banking.
