Starting in September 2025, CEPR and the Center for Monetary Research of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco will be hosting the Virtual Seminar on Monetary Economics, a monthly online research seminar.
Its focus is the study of monetary policy, covering topics such as central banks’ goals and frameworks, design of optimal policies, implementation choices, transmission to financial markets and the macroeconomy, and international dimensions of monetary policy.
Each seminar consists of a 40-minute presentation, followed by 20 minutes of Q&A and open discussion. During the presentation, the audience is automatically muted and may submit questions using the Q&A tool. The host collects clarifying questions and a few questions of general interest and relays them to the speaker at intervals, ensuring the flow of the seminar. During the open discussion, participants may raise their hand to ask questions live, directly to the speaker.
Seminars will be hosted on Zoom at 5:00PM CET / 4:00PM GMT / 11:00AM EDT / 8:00AM PDT.
