Daniel Garcia-Macia is a Senior Economist in the IMF’s Asia and Pacific Department, where he serves as desk economist for China. He has also held positions in the Fiscal Affairs, European, and Research Departments of the IMF. His research on macroeconomics has been published in top academic journals, including Econometrica and the Review of Financial Studies, and has been featured in leading media. He holds a PhD in Economics from Stanford University and an MSc from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics.
